Christmas in November
On Saturday 27th November, Caithness Quilters held their annual Christmas in November fun day. It was good to see a large number of members attending, despite the wintry weather.

We started off with coffee & mince pies while we got the workshop under way. This year we made a Christmas decoration from 12 small hexagons. This occupied us happily until lunchtime, and was great fun as we sewed by hand and chatted all morning.

This year's Christmas Challenge was The Twelve Days of Christmas. We only had six entries, which is less than usual, but they were all lovely. Members took time out from sewing to vote, and the results were:
Lunch was provided by the Norseman Hotel. We had a cold and hot choice plus all the Christmas trimmings, and a super variety of desserts. Many members had second portions as the food was plentiful and really excellent. Our thanks to the Norseman for their superb efforts.

After lunch we had our Secret Santa game which is always highly entertaining. Everyone ended up with a parcel whose contents were on a sewing theme.

Next on the agenda was a Christmas Quiz - which tested quite a few brains! And the day finished with the prizegiving, followed by tea and cakes.

It was a lovely day spent wtih friends, always the highlight of our calendar.

Our thanks to the committee, and especially Lorna and Janet, for all their hard work.

We'll do it all again next year ... !
